Cristiano
Ronaldo was in a playful mood on the eve of Portugal's Euro 2016 semi-final
clash with Wales - while Pepe trained alone as he continues his battle to be
fit to face Chris Coleman's side.
The
Portuguese squad once again trained at their Marcoussis base ahead of the last
four game in Lyon, with leading-man Ronaldo sharing a joke with Ricardo
Quaresma before tugging on the ear of his old friend.
Ronaldo
has yet to find his best form in France, despite scoring twice, while Quaresma
has arguably been the tournament's most impactful substitute thanks to his
last-gasp goal against Croatia and the winning penalty against Poland. The two
have known each other since their teens, having come through the Sporting
Lisbon youth system together.
But
while the attacking duo shared a joke and trained with the rest of the squad,
Pepe worked alone with the Portuguese fitness team as he continues his recovery
from a thigh problem.
The
Real Madrid defender remains an injury doubt and missed training on Monday
because of the issue. Portugal's staff continue to monitor his condition.
Should
he not be passed fit for Wednesday's fixture at the Stade de Lyon, 38-year-old
former Chelsea defender Ricardo Carvalho is expected to replace him.
Pepe,
33, remains a key figure in coach Fernando Santos' team and plays alongside
Wales' Gareth Bale at club level.
His
potential absence comes at a time when Wales will be without the suspended
Aaron Ramsey and Ben Davies.
